Year of Being 50: Day 241: It’s Better to Under-Promise and Over-Deliver
Based on a conversation I had recently, I’m reminded that it’s much, much better to under-promise and over-deliver than to do the reverse. To be able to do this, though, you need to know your limits and your capacity and your actual ability. Some people have no idea of those about themselves, and thus often over-promise and inevitably under-deliver. They are then known as unreliable, and often think more of their abilities than other people do.
Be confident, sure. But be careful that your promises don’t state more than your actual capacity can accommodate.
