So, for each year since 2020, I’ve set a reading goal of the last two digits of the year. So this year’s goal is 23 books. This might seem modest to some, but I fell off reading a lot when I got my first-ever iPad many years ago, and often struggle to fit reading into my life these days.

I only really read before bed most of the time, so if Rory and I are watching something, or I’m playing a game on my iPad, or I’m watching something myself, reading doesn’t usually happen.

I managed to get a great head start at the beginning of the year, reading five books in January. But later in the spring, and then all summer and early fall, life was just… chaos. So I’m having to scramble.

I thought I had three books left to read, but my daughter reminded me of something I read earlier in the year and forgot to count. SO. Just two more to go, and I’m about 1/3 of the way through a book.

I think I’ll make it. I’ll make sure I do. But I don’t like cutting it this close.

Next year, my goal will be 24 books. Going to have to plan that one carefully.
