We are very lucky to not have to use one of these anymore.

It feels like most of our life is spend doing life maintenance. Especially as an adult.

We sleep, eat, do our daily ablutions, clean and tidy, work (usually in order to make money in order to afford a house, food, clothing, etc.)… And very little time leftover, relatively speaking, to just exist, discover, learn, grow, and follow our passions.

If we’re lucky, our work relates to our passions. But that’s not always the case, and having to do something usually makes it less enjoyable anyway.

I feel like I spend most of my time in life maintenance tasks, or thinking about/planning life maintenance tasks.

It’s no wonder that there are memes about fantasies of running off into the woods and living among the trees. Of course, most of us would have much shortened lifespans if we did. But it is occasionally tempting.
