Fire-Works on the Night of the Fourth of July by Winslow Homer

Someone in one of my many Facebook groups suggested checking out the members list and seeing who is in your area, or who you have mutual friends with, in order to help you discover people you used to know and lost touch with.

So I checked out the membership list in this group, which has like 62,000 people in it. I was friends with like four people, but there were dozens and dozens more with whom I have mutual friends. (But I had no discoveries of people I lost touch with.)

Some were easily explained (the mutuals were all in the writing field, we all went to the same high school, what have you), but others not so much. One person and I have two mutual friends whom I know from vastly different circles and I did a double take.

It’s fun to see how we’re all connected in this world.
