This isn’t a new concept, but one that I came across again recently.

The idea is to do one thing a day to get you closer to your goal, whatever that goal might be. Apparently it originated with Jerry Seinfeld when he was trying to write more jokes. He’d hold himself to the requirement of writing at least one joke a day, and mark it on a chart or calendar. He apparently wanted to keep his streak going more than he wanted to take a day off from joke writing, so it worked for him, and he wrote a lot of jokes.

This can work for anyone, and for any goal. Whether it’s writing a book or exercising or preparing homemade meals or learning a new skill. Set yourself a manageable goal easily done each day, and then put a mark on your chart when you do it for the day. Try to not break the chain, and see how quickly you progress.

This is a great reminder for me as well.
