So, a few days ago, I got out my January newsletter. I thought it would be a quick thing, but it wasn’t.

See, TinyLetter informed me (and everyone else) a while back that they’d stop operating sometime in February. I intended to have my January newsletter set up at Substack in time to send it out, but time got away from me, and I hoped to send out one more via TinyLetter before spending time to figure out the Substack interface.

But it was not to be.

All of my images disappeared from TinyLetter, and I lost all confidence that it would work. So I muddled through, trying to figure out the considerably-more-complicated Substack interface. It was frustrating and I made a lot of wrong turns. And Rory ended up writing the newsletter for me to help out!

I like Substack in general, and feel like it has some fun and interesting options (even if you just put out free newsletters, like I have so far). But there is definitely a learning curve. Hopefully I’ll figure out more before February’s newsletter.
