Every year for the past several years, I’ve been taking the last week of the calendar to look back on the year, including how well I did with the goals I’d set for myself, what worked and what didn’t, and what lessons I can take away from everything. Then I look ahead to the next year, and set some new goals, breaking them down into actionable sections or steps. I tend to follow the end-of-year evaluation sheets that Ink + Volt puts out (here’s a link to the first of four for this year—I’ll let you dig for the others).

I find that when I do this, I accomplish more of my personal goals than when I don’t, but I still usually only succeed at a fraction of them (usually less than 50% but more than 25%). Still, that’s not too bad, considering I always set too-high standards for myself.

So, this is the week I’ll be spending on this. I hope I come up with some helpful revelations.
