Year of Being 50: Day 210: A Dearth of Time Alone
News flash: I work best when I’m home alone. Surprise, surprise.
Following on the heels of yesterday’s post, I’ve learned that I can actually get a lot more done when I’m home by myself for more than a couple of hours. Knowing that no one will talk to me or interrupt me, knowing that no one will have any pressing needs in person (except for the cats), and knowing that I am able to freely talk to myself without someone asking, “Were you taking to me?” meant that I got about twice as much work done as normal. I was able to do some work-work and some book work done today, pretty satisfactorily, too.
It’s rare that Rory is away for the day, but this is an important data point to learning how I best work.
