A photo through my telescope at our peak coverage. The color distortion is, I’m sure, because of my “camera” (my iPhone SE 2).

So, sometimes I get ahead on these posts and write them in advance, because there’s the occasional day when I just don’t have time, energy, or ideas about what to write. So I’m writing this particular post just after the recent eclipse.

It was really neat to see the 82% coverage from our home, without having to make a several-hour trip to the Four Corners area to get the full experience. We drove up to Wyoming for the total solar eclipse a few years ago, and it was really neat, but a LOT of trouble.

But, just staying at home, we were able to experience the eclipsing moon/sun combo, most of the way, including the deep blue sky and the dimming sunlight. And all we had to do is be up and ready at a completely reasonable time in the morning.

Here are some more photos.

My little solar telescope that I love.

My first photo through the telescope. You can even see sunspots.

Colander fun.

The sky was almost this blue. Truly.
