Year of Being 50: Day 161: Ah, Autumn. Finally.
It’s finally officially Autumn.
Though we’ve had a week or two of cool mornings most days, nice for going on walks without having to get up at 5am, the calendar declares that only today is it Autumn. Maybe because it’s still often in the low 80s as highs. But at least we can open up the house in the evening and keep it open until mid-morning now.
This is one of my favorite times of year, when the weather just… turns. I can finally breathe a sigh of relief, knowing it won’t be hot hot again until June. We get about 3 1/2 months of unbearable (to me) weather here each year (aka Summer), which is a pretty good deal, as far as climates go. Very few places are nicer for longer. It’s lovely here from mid-September through the end of May, and sometimes a little into June.
And now we can stop having heat-induced brain fog for a while.
But, it is replaced with pressure-changes-induced brain fog. Still, it’s less annoying and it makes me less grumpy.
Next up, leaf changes! Nothing really yet, but soon. And hoodies.
